The resounding success of the nationwide productions of THE NIGHTS OF THE CHAMPIONS had all of its fans and admirers buzzing in a frenzy reacting to this issue that the event is a virtual showdown between two of its popular female headliners.
Is this the Sarah Geronimo versus Rachell Ann Go showdown? Who do you think is the better performer, better singer?
Ms. Sarah Geronimo’s internet based fans were quick to react stating that Sarah has the edge since she was first to attain a multi platinum status in terms of her CD album’s popularity. In addition to her successful solo concert, Sarah has further gained popularity for appearing in two major films, within the first 15 months after her winning Star For A Night.
Ms. Rachell Ann Go’s immediate fans responded that no comparison must be made since their idol has just started barely a year into the music industry after winning as the grand champion of Search For A Star competition. Rachell has just released her first CD album and is quickly becoming popular.
The comparison goes beyond at this point. Sarah’s admires are all proud that their idol’s vocal range has been compared to that of Ms. Celine Dione’s , while Rachell’s followers would likened their idol’s to that of Ms. Mariah Carey. Now, who do you think set’s the bar of comparison?
Are we witnessing the beginnings of a fan based feud?
Rachell Ann’s Chicago-based admirers do welcome the friendly rivalry. When Rachell Ann was asked by a TV reporter about the comparative issues, she responded with a smile and said that Sarah is a friend and even expressed her gratitude for all of Sarah’s support and help.
Ditto to Sarah’s comments from an entertainment tabloid on the issue of rivalry, she commented that Rachell Ann and her are friends, and Rachell Ann has her own style, as she has her own.
Where does it end? Better yet, do we really need to set the stage and really find out? Let us all see and watch the ultimate showdown at the Night of the Champions.

MANILA --- Gardo Versoza and Jean Garcia, who are together in the top ABS-CBN teleserye “It Might Be You,” have been dating for sometime now.
Well, the two are now officially on. Yup, they are a couple. And there are talks that they might even get married soon.
Though Jean already has two children, she is still officially single. So is Gardo.
Jean has a teenage daughter by former Regal baby Jigo Garcia. Gardo, on the other hand, was once upon a time linked romantically to Mon Confiado’s elder sister.
His romance with Jean is his first serious one after his separation from Mon’s sister. (MNS)

MANILA --- Do you know why Bea Alonzo does not like to have a pet?
Well, according to her, her parents gave her and her younger brother a pair of hamsters when they were kids. They loved their pets and really took good care of them.
But one day, she said, she and her bother slept early. It was too late when they realized they had not yet fed their pets. Then, to their horror, they discovered that one of the hamsters had eaten the head of the other.
“Muntik na ho akong ma-traumatize dahil doon,” she related. “Since, then, sabi ko sa sarili ko, ayoko na ng pets.
“Mayroon ho ngayong alagang aso ang mother ko na dahil alam niyang may phobia ako sa pets, ‘di na lang pinababayaang pumasok ng bahay kapag nandoon ako.
“So far, ‘yan lang po naman ang masasabing unreasonable fear ko,” Bea added.
Star Cinema hastendered a victory blowout for the cast, crew and staff of the box-office hit movie, “Now That I Have You.”
Lead stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea, who looks even sexier now, were there. The two had just come from a meeting with several of the top guns of ABS-CBN and Star Cinema. They just renewed their contracts with the network.
Everyone noticed how extra solicitous John Lloyd was to Bea that evening.

Bea’s face turned red, but she chose to remain silent.
Nikki Valdez, who played Bea’s best friend in the movie, came with good friend and “OK, Fine! Whatever” co-star Rica Peralejo.
Speaking of Rica, we are wondering if the report is true that the reason her former boyfriend Bernard Palanca blew his top and decided to break-up with her is because he found out she was a former escort girl.
This escort business created a bad connotation after bold starlet Keanna Reeves made a startling revelation about the true nature of the job. (MNS)
