No fantasy series for Piolo

Piolo Pascual MANILA --- Piolo Pascual has reportedly turned down a role in “Krystala,” Judy Ann Santos’ fantaserye on ABS-CBN?

He had nothing against playing a part in the fantaserye or starring with Judy Ann, who was his partner in two blockbuster movies. It’s just that he felt it was too early for him to have another teleserye, considering that he just finished “Mangarap Ka,” which also aired on ABS-CBN.

Moreover, Piolo is currently doing a movie, “Dream Boy,” which pairs him for the first time with Bea Alonzo. (MNS)

Shaina, Bea are best friends

MANILA --- Shaina Magdayao, the younger sister of Vina Morales, and Bea Alonzo said they are best friends.

Bea is older than Shaina by two years. But the two of them click as they have a lot of things in common. Both go for the same type of movies, songs, food and even books.

Their friendship started when they appeared in a TV series together. Since then, they have become inseparable.

"We consult each other when we have problems," Bea relates. "Pero, sa edad namin, wala pa naman talaga kaming matitinding problema. Kaya, kung minsan, ni ayaw na naming pag-usapan."

They tell each other the same thing when it comes to having a boyfriend. "Pareho kaming naniniwalang we are too young to fall in love," Shaina disclosed.

Bea and Shaina are talents of Star Magic.

Bea may be thrilled to be working with Piolo Pascual in the new movie "Dream Boy," but she's nonetheless excited at the prospect of starring in another teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz.

"Kasi, maski ano pang sabihin, I will always be associated with John Lloyd. Isa pa, mabait naman siya sa akin," she said.

Bea and John Lloyd were in two ABS-CBN teleseryes, "Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay" and "It Might Be You," which had huge followings. "Itanong n'yo pa sa ABS-CBN," she says.

They also appeared together in two box-office hits, "My First Romance" and "Now That I Have You." (MNS)

Way cleared for Dolphy-Zsa Zsa wedding

Zsa-Zsa Padilla MANILA --- Singer-actress Esperanza "Zsa Zsa" Padilla is about to realize her dream of tying the knot with ace comedian Dolphy or Rodolfo Vera Quizon in real life.

The Special Fourth Division of the Court of Appeals, through Associate Justice Delilah Vidallon-Magtolis, approved the motion of the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) withdrawing its opposition to the move of Padilla seeking annulment of her marriage to Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari.

Tatlonghari is father to Padilla's daughter, Karylle, who is also a singer.

Under the law, the government, through the solicitor general, is required to controvert annulment proceedings primarily as a precaution against fraud.

In October 2003, the OSG, as oppositor-appellant, asked Judge Helen Ricafort of Parañaque to reconsider her August 2003 decision to annul Padilla's marriage to Tatlonghari.

The OSG stepped in because Tatlonghari no longer pursued the case.

It argued Padilla was "not a victim of matrimonial tragedy" because she was involved in an "adulterous relationship" with Quizon.

The OSG said Padilla violated public policy when she entered into a relationship with Quizon while married to Tatlonghari. The two were married in 1980.

In 1990, Padilla eloped with Quizon, who is 36 years her senior. They now have two daughters.

Quizon has 17 children with five different women, none of whom he married. (MNS)

No more soap for Regine

Regine Velasquez MANILA --- Regine Velasquez has reportedly refused to extend the drama series, “Forever in My Heart,” for another season.

“Forever in My Heart” is aired every day on GMA-7 and also stars Richard Gomez and Ariel Rivera. It is set to end this January.

Regine explained: “I only opted to do the soap for the experience. And one season is enough. “Madugo pala ang magkaroon ng soap opera. At least na-experience ko ito,” she added.

She will soon start work on a movie that will feature her with Aga Muhlach and Judy Ann Santos. It will be directed by Joyce Bernal and produced by Viva Films. (MNS)
