Fil-Am band in Jersey to release debut single
Bleud Band

Jersey City, NEW JERSEY, January 14, 2005 --- The year 2005 may still be in its infancy but for Jersey City-based Filipino-American band Bleud, it is the year of their full growth.

The band signed with Alpha Records Philippines last December for the release of their debut single entitled “Hello My Friends, Hello,” which will be out late January, via a rock compilation called “Shiny Silver Jeepney.”

The band is also filming the Music Video for “Hello My Friends, Hello,” directed by Sheryl Garcia and will be released in Manila coinciding with the song’s release.

The speed of the groups breakout and tons-full of shows must be attributed to their CD that they recorded and released late 2004, including the original version of the hit song “Bye Bye Na” of ABS-CBN Himig Handog Love Songs 2 fame sang by Rivermaya’s Rico Blanco but penned by Bleud bassist and producer Ted Reyes.

The CD, called “Bleud: Extended Play,” is available as a giveaway on every show that the band does or as mp3 downloads at the band’s Web site. The EP consists of 11 tracks, 3 in Filipino, 6 in English and 2 Fillers.

The Band

Brian Joseph Miguel is the other half of Bleud’s songwriting duo. He has opened songs with unmistakable hooks and tender tones. He also is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist.

Arnold De Rama is the lead guitarist whose raunchy riffs and sweet guitar solos define much of what the band’s sound is. De Rama is an axe virtuoso whose passion for his craft is only equal to his zest for life.

Jerwin Glorioso handles the drums and percussions. He was the bassist of famed Filipino-American band Kontrapelo back in the late 90’s. His rock solid backbeat and unorthodox musical tastes creates the band’s unique rhythm and sonic appeal.

Ted Reyes is the bassist, second vocalist and other songwriter of the band. Ted was the guitarist and vocalist of The Freesouls which released an album in 1997 under BMG Records Pilipinas called Shindig.

You can catch Bleud on Feb. 12 in Baltimore, MD; March 5, June 4 and Aug. 6 at The C-Note Club in Manhattan with Rubberband and Cutterpillows.
