Ballesteros at Art Palabok group show
on February 28

NEW YORK, February 24, 2005 --- Lito Ballesteros will be featured as one of the participating artists at the Art Palabok group show, which will run from Feb. 28 to March 11, at the Philippine Center.

Ballesteros, a multi-faceted talent, has had numerous exhibits, both solo and group. His creations and images have the distinct sense of visions without fear or sadness, giving the viewer the awakening of life through his very recognizable bursts of colors.

Ever the innovative artist that he is, Ballesteros who is slated to have a solo art exhibit at the Rutherford NJ Sheraton in March. He will show how pieces of his new line of works,which he is so excited about at the ART PALABOK group show.

The participating artists in the ART PALABOK group show include Julian Oteyza, Marielle Mariano, Jeffrey Berman, Linda Pirrone, Manuel Gamboa, Mel Vera Cruz, Luis Caraos, Emilia “Baby” Monroy, Jon Melegrito, Joe Dureza, Melissa Nolledo Christoffels, Maria Madonna, Davidoff, Dulcie Dee and Ballesteros.

Reception will be on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.

Final candidates for ‘05 Maharlikang Pilipino USA, Philippine Pearl announced



Jersey City, NEW JERSEY, February 24, 2005 --- After a close screening and series of talent presentations, the final candidates for 2005 Maharlikang Pilipino USA and 2005 Philippine Pearl Productions have been announced, according to Engr. Danny Pagsambugan, pageants founder/executive producer.

The coronation and final presentation of the candidates will be staged on March 5, 2005, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, at the Sheraton Hotel, Rt. 3, East Rutherford, NJ.

The gala presentation will feature the well selected batch of 10 young gentlemen and nine lovely ladies vying for the most coveted title. The unique pageant will feature presentations in native attire, beachwear creations and formal wear.

The evening’s special presentation will be a fashion collection by the international Filipino designer, Barge Ramos, with the added participation by Barong formal wear designer Rico Adrineda, of Cabanatuan City.

This years Maharlikang Pilipino USA official candidates include: Mike Adelante, Jason Bautista, Brett Bleza Guinto, Gerald Engcong, Warren Kwan, Ashley Lapid, John Opilac, Nino Dunhill Pangan, Brian Recana and Chesar Tan.

This year’s Philippine Pearl Productions official candidates are: Candice Capiral, Katherine Bernal, Charmaine Esguerra, Angia Jalac, Christine Osolio, Irene Reynoso, Erica Tocol, Kim Vigilia, Melissa Zoleta.

This year’s search will award major titles such as Maharlikang Pilipino USA 2005, Maharlikang Pilipino USA Turismo 2005, with Maharlikang Pilipino USA Luzon, Vizayas, Mindanao.

The winner of evening formal search will compete in the Grand National Finals for Maharlikang Pilipino 2005 at the Grand Ballroom of the Manila Hotel this coming June 2005, whereas the Philippine Pearl Productions include Mutya ng Pilipinas East Coast USA, Bb. Pilipinas East Coast USA, Miss Asia World East Coast USA, Queen of Charity.

The gala search for Philippine Pearl Productions is headed by Kimberly Ponio.

The major title holders will have a free round trip tickets to the Philippines, aside from being the Ambassadors of Goodwill.

The winner will assist in the turn over of proceeds and donations to Bantay Bata 163 Foundation and the School Rehabilitation Program in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija thru the auspices of local governments.

Special Awards for this years search will include, Best in Formal Wear, Best in Beachwear, Best in Costume, Best in Talent, Mr & Miss Friendship, Mr & Miss Photogenic, Face of the Night, Flawless Skin, Most Discipline and Discovery Model of the year. The Talent Night was presented at the Cutting Room in Manhattan and the winners will perform and will be announced during that evening.

Bernardo Bernardo, the famous stage actor/comedian, and Bessie Badilla del Castillo, who was a former Mutya ng Pilipinas, and a TV Host, will be the pageant’s hosts, and will assisted by Christian Nyquist, Maharlikang Pilipino Mindanao in the Grand Finals, Philippines, and by Cynthia Bondoc for that evening.

Christine Eliza Sienicki will perform special numbers.

Corporate sponsors of the pageant include Mabuhay Tax Service, Juno Health Care, Real Entertainment, while Western Union, Topnotch Electronics, Diamond Hut are up for signing.

Bleud returns to New York


Bleud: Arnold, Brian, Ted, and Jerwin

NEW YORK, February 24, 2005 --- After a wild and highly charged one-night show last February 12 in Baltimore, Maryland with other Filipino-American rock bands, homegrown group Bleud returns to New York City for a series of shows and recording chores.

The foursome of Brian Joseph Miguel, Ted Reyes, Arnold De Rama and Jerwin Glorioso had just played last February 19 at The Cutting Room in midtown Manhattan with the sultry singer Patricia Javier. The band will be rocking the lower east side of the city on March 5 with a concert at The C-Note club with pinoy-rock legends Rubberband and Maryland-based band Cutterpillows.

Meanwhile, Bleud members also doing a lot of studio work for their upcoming debut album due in April of 2005, which will be released simultaneously in the United States and the Philippines.

The album would be made up of at least 15 songs, all originals and produced by Ted Reyes for their US label Soulworks and their Manila based label Alpha Music Corp. The record is yet to be named.

Catch Bleud on March 5, 2005, Saturday, at The C-Note Club. The C-note is located at 157 Ave C. and 10th Street, New York , NY. Show starts at 8 p.m.
