Sarah Geronimo, Sweet 16
By Ronn Reganit

There is Megastar Ms. SHARON CUNETA, then ASIA’S SONGBIRD Ms. REGINE VELASQUEZ and could the next be, Ms. SARAH GERONIMO or this statement is overbearingly confident. A handful of critics and industry aficionados would dare predict, but one must take a note that Sarah’s career path is definitely on the upward swing. In just more than a year’s time, this young lass has entered and won the top grand prize of a talent search competition (STAR FOR A NIGHT) instantly becoming a millionaire; has staged and appeared in sold-out concerts nationwide with a top selling CD album under her belt, and has become a sought after product endorser for ad agencies. All of these accomplishments in the tender age of sixteen.

The young girl was born and raised in Sta. Cruz, Manila with her parents as her early singing mentors. She has joined numerous singing contests where she has learned to improve her singing style. She started at the early age of four as a cast member of the kiddie show “Pen Pen de Sarapen,” and has appeared in a number of television shows. Her credits included a cameo appearance in the film “Sarah, Ang Munting Princesa” and a number of live performances in mall concerts around Metro Manila.

When asked if her immediate success has changed her personally, Sarah politely responded with humility and stated that the material comfort has indeed helped her family, but she personally remains the same person. She’s added that she has become more dedicated in improving her singing craft. She deeply acknowledges the support from her family and appreciates her growing legions of fans that buys her CD albums and attend her concerts.

Sarah remains humble and grounded with her expectations. She definitely wants to get her high school diploma and earn a college degree in the future. Her mother studio, the powerhouse VIVA organization, has big plans for the young star performer. Sarah will be appearing in a feature film as an entry at the Metro Manila Film Festival this year. Plans are in the works for a new CD album.

Boosted by the tail-wind of her fame and success as a recording artist, film star and concert performer, Sarah is poised to conquer the next platform and this is the international concert venue. This journey will be soon a reality with the maiden U.S. tour of the NIGHT OF THE CHAMPIONS with its debut engagement on SEPT. 18th in New York City, followed By CHICAGO on September 26th and LOS ANGELES on October 2nd, 2004. Appearing with Sarah are RACHELL ANN GO, CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA and MARK BAUTISTA.

Given the right attitude, professional guidance and strong dedication, Sarah Geronimo is ready and prepared to face the challenges at this stage of her young career.

Angel Locsin in 7th heaven

MANILA, April 14, 2005 --- It's not surprising that Angel Locsin is in seventh heaven right now because
of the sky-high ratings of the first week telecast of her new show, "Darna."

She got countless text messages congratulating her for the hit show, including one from Susan Roces. The show is always getting a rating of 50 per cent and above.

"I want to thank all the people who continue to watch the show," says Angel. "Imagine, tinalo pa nito ang 'Mulawin.' At first, I was nervous it might not duplicate the success of 'Mulawin,' but it turned out mas mataas pa ang rating nito. First time daw may nagre-rate ng 50% plus. And we're just starting. Kapag lumabas na ang iba't ibang kontrabidang makakalaban ko sa show, I'm sure all the more that people will be interested to watch it."

We're sure GMA-7 people are also in cloud nine since even their other primetime shows like "Extra Challenge" and "Full House" are also rating 40 per cent plus, no less. Now that "Stairway to Heaven" has ended, they're starting a new "Koreanovela," "All About Eve," which will surely also capture the interest of viewers because of its more intriguing plotline. (MNS)

Finally, Dawn is pregnant

MANILA --- It’s good to hear that actress Dawn Zulueta is finally pregnant with her first baby. She and her husband Anton Lagdameo have been married for almost seven years.

It will be remembered that Dawn, after her marriage to Anton, laid low from her career thinking, perhaps, that she will soon start a family. She only decided to accept showbiz offers when she failed to get pregnant.

Dawn reportedly is grateful that she was able to finish all her tapings for a teleserye on GMA-7 before learning from her obstetrician that she was pregnant.

Dawn and Anton are permanently based in Davao. (MNS)
