Sunico leads fund-raiser for San Lorenzo church

NEW YOK CITY -- Filipinos in New York and other parts of the United States attended recently the concert by pianist Raul Sunico at the Cathedral High School auditorium of the New York Catholic Center on East 56th St. in Manhattan.

The concert raised funds for the Chapel of San Lorenzo Ruiz.

Fr. Erno Diaz, director of the Filipino apostolate in the Archdiocese of New York, spearheads a fundraising campaign for the repair and renovation of the chapel that opened in September on Broome St. in Lower Manhattan.

The chapel for Filipinos is good news to those living in New York.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Piat in Cagayan Valley donated a replica image of the Virgin under this title through Msgr. Sam Bacculi. Zeny Abbriao of the Piat Legacy Foundation brought the image to New York.

Bobby Caballero, author of the coffee-table book on Our Lady of Piat, gave Zeny copies to sell to pay for the cost of shipping the image. Those who want to help can text 09l7-89l2825.
