Digital Art On Exhibit At RP Center On July 2-13

PHOTOGRAPHER and digital artist Melissa Nolledo-Christoffels, the daughter of Blanca and the late Wilfrido Nolledo, prize-winning novelist (“But for the Lovers”), will display 30 of her works at the Philippine Center in Manhattan.

Titles included in this show are Woman Cradled, Migrations, Saxophonist at Farragut North, Duyan (“Cradle”) and Manong and Manang (The Elders).

“Epiphanies of Flight” opens on July 2 (Artist’s Reception) at the Philippine Center at 556 5th Avenue, New York, NY and continues through July 13.

It is a world of art common to a generation’s obsession with its computerized ability to manipulate an ordinary image beyond recognition.

Digitalization is the hallucinatory tool. Layers of tinkering via a software to produce an artform borders on the incredible; and coming from the kaleidoscopic eye of Melissa Nolledo-Christoffels, a totally believable experience.

Pops To Sing Manila’s Disco Hits At The Fiesta

UPBEAT songs that would make the crowds rave and dance such as “Bongga Ka Day”, “Manila”, and “Awitin mo at “Isasayaw Ko”,” are classic Filipino pop songs that would delight the crowds as Philippines’ Concert Queen Pop Fernandez would perform a musical extravaganza at the Philippine Fiesta.

Popular and sexy Fernandez’s ability to draw people, whether she sings ballad and slow tunes or fast, disco songs, is a true phenomenon. Gifted with a brilliant voice, graceful dancing movement, the audiences love to see the freshness and radiance of life in Fernandez’ bedimpled smile. Her recording career in the Philippines is greatly soaring. Her second album for star records called “Nagmamahal Pa Rin sa Yo, turned a gold record and sold like hotcakes.

Pops could turn the audiences alive and enthusiastic by serenading them with love songs or dance music. Catch Fernandez and enjoy her show at Philippine Fiesta, at the Meadowlands Exposition Center at Secaucus New Jersey on August 18 and 19.

Fernandez was chosen as best female musical variety show host at Manila’s KBP Golden Dove awards in 1999. Fernandez’ thousands of fans extend beyond the boundaries of the Philippines: She has regularly toured U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, Guam and Italy to hold jam pack concerts. She is not only a singer but also an actress and TV host.

Fernandez spiced variety shows in Manila with her occasional appearances. Her singing and dancing are always a joyful experience. Other awards she received include: Best Concert Performer, Most Popular Female Concert Performer, Entertainer of the Year, Female Entertainer of the Year, and Most Famous Celebrity Mother.

Audiences feel Fernandez’ passion when this singer-icon performs: Her face, her smile, her strength, the woman they admire. She is the epitome of a modern Filipina:

Strong, talented, independent and successful. Through the years, she has reaped the fruits of her hard work by realizing her goals of successful concerts and numerous achievements.

“More than 15 years later, I am enjoying to the fullest, the rewards that have eluded so many. I have a great career, two wonderful sons, a beautiful home, and blessings more than I can count,” said Fernandez.
