MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay)-- FORMER child star Aiza Seguerra does not keep secret her utmost wish to have a baby. Never mind if the 24-year-old singer has to go through the process of artificial insemination.
When Jason Abalos and Derek Ramsey learned about it, the two reportedly told Aiza they were willing to be the sperm donor. But Aiza gave them a firm "No."
Aiza knows the complications involved in case she agrees to accept the offer of either of the two so as much as possible, she wants an anonymous donor.
Jason and Derek are Aiza's co-stars in the highly-rated teleserye, "Ysabella," on ABS-CBN. The teleserye also has Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo and Gina Pare–o in the cast.
"Actually, 'di naman ako in a hurry to become a mother," said Aiza, "But, in time, I would really want to have a baby."
Star Records has just released Aiza's latest album, entitled "Para Lang Sa'yo (Songs inspired by "Ysabella")." The album is a compilation of original songs and remakes. As the trademark of every Aiza Sequerra music (this is her sixth album, so far), emotions brim in every song.
Most of the songs are familiar to viewers of "Ysabella," because Aiza has sung them in the teleserye. Worth mentioning is "Huwag Mong Iwan ang Puso," which PDA dream scholar Yeng Constantino originally sang. The album also contains Aiza's version of "I'll Be There for You," originally performed by Martin Nievera. There’s also her surprise version of the ditty "Bakit Ako Mahihiya."
Aiza confessed that she was, at first, hesitant to sing "Bakit Ako Mahihiya."
Explained she: "It's so identified with Didith Reyes na para bang nakakatakot i-compare ang boses mo sa kanya. Kaso, ito supposedly ang theme song nina Tita Gina (who plays her mom in the teleserye) at ng kanyang namapayapang asawa kaya, I had no choice but to sing it."
Other would-be hits in the album are "Persistent Rain" by Christian Martinez and lyrics by Cynthia Roque, "Walang Sayang" by Moy Ortiz, "Mahagkan Kang Muli" by Nyoy Volante and "Kasama" by Ricky Sanchez.
"Sana Di Puro Lang Sana," which is also in the album, is a song which Aiza composed with Mike Villegas (formerly of the band, Rizal Underground).
Aiza was three years old when she became a child superstar. Did she miss anything in her childhood because she was in the limelight at an early age?
She answered: "Wala naman, since my parents never gave me the impression that I was different from other children my age. Pinapayagan nila akong maglaro sa kalye, although the kalye had to be sometimes closed to traffic.
"Pinapayagan din nila akong mangapit-bahay, para lang makipaglaro sa mga kapitbahay naming bata.
"Siguro, if there's one thing I do regret, pero masasabi kong I am so happy especially now, it’s not growing taller. Sana more than 4'10" man lang ang height ko," she said with a laugh.
We also asked Aiza at what age she discovered she could sing.
"Funny, but it was my mom (a school teacher) who thought I had the talent. At seven years old, I could already sing the song "On My Own" (the theme song of the Broadway play, "Les Miserables"). She immediately had me tutored by a music teacher, which initially I resented.
"Yung pagtugtog ko ng gitara was self-taught. 'Di na ako nahihiyang magpaturo para lalo akong humusay sa pagtugtog ng gitara, kapag may nakakasalamuha akong expert sa gitara," Aiza further said.
Regarding her gender preference, she thinks she had known what she is ever since she was small. "Iyan namang kung ano ikaw, it's not a matter of choice. It's accepting what you really are," she said.
"In my case, I'm lucky because my parents understand. And they take me for who I am," she added. (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay) -- Actor Jomari Yllana will not marry Pops Fernandez -- at least, not any time soon.
Without directly mentioning Pops' name, the actor doused, in a manner of speaking, any speculation that he and Pops would be married -- much to the dismay of the inquisitive movie press after the presscon of the ABS-CBN's new TV series, "Lastikman" at Teatrino in Greenhills Wednesday night. Jomari is part of the "Lastikman" cast.
"You see, may anak na ako. Gusto kong sila ang tutukan ko. Hindi pa, hindi pa," he said, slowing down the tempo of the ambush interview at the hall's backstage.
Pops and Jomari were married before (she to singer Martin Nievera and he to actress, now Quezon City councilor Aiko Melendez) but past marriages are already annulled. For Jomari however, what matters most is the sweet time he and Pops relish and enjoy together.
"Gano'n na lang muna siguro. Matagal na namang gano'n, di ba? Hayaan na lang muna natin na gano'n 'yon. Mas effective," the actor explained.
But what exactly is their situation? Their relationship? Yllana and Fernandez have not stated anything categorical about what they have between them, so it looks like the press is getting ahead of the story.
At this point, Jomari finally talkied about Pops' ex-husband Martin Nievera. Pops and Martin are currently at odds with each other due to allegedly insulting remarks made by Martin's present wife Katrina against their (Martin's and Pops') children.
Martin explained that Katrina was only making a joke but Pops is accusing him of not doing enough to defend their kids against Katrina. It's a quarrel that leaves Jomari caught in the middle, although he's doing his best to distance himself from the issue between the former spouses.
"Gusto ko sana siyang makausap nang personal kaya lang hindi pa kami nagkikita. Sana, magkita na kami nang talagang face-to-face so that I can talk to him," informed Jomari.
He also admitted that he and Pops talk about Martin once in a while but in good faith. "Natural naman 'yon sa usapan ng dalawang tao na may common person both are familiar with, di ba?"
A reporter from a TV entertainment show pointed out to Jomari that two women in his life are having problems with a guy named "Martin". Jomari's ex-wife Aiko Melendez recently had an ugly split with her second husband, Martin Jickain.
"Oo nga, e," Jomari chuckled.
What can he say about Aiko's recent legal battle against Jickain accusing him in public of the crime of theft and seeking police protection from him?
"Sa totoo lang, wala akong masasabi r'yan. Ayaw kong makialam sa kanila. I have my own life and they have theirs so wala dapat pakialam, di ba?" he said.
Asked how well he knows Aiko, Jomari gave this reply:
"Di ba, may kasabihan tayo na kahit asawa mo, hindi mo makikilala nang husto. Every person, di ba, is unique?" he said. (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 22 (Mabuhay) -- Sexy actress Ara Mina called for an end to malicious rumors about her alleged affair with Filipino WBC International Super Featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
During the housewarming for her new home in an exclusive village in Quezon City, Mina proudly told the press that she's starting to feel "degraded" by the "cheap" rumors linking her to the boxing champ.
She denied rumors that her new house is a gift from the boxing champ, pointing out that she has enough resources to spend on the house.
"Ano bang tingin nila sa akin, di ba? Hindi ba ako nag-aabroad? Wala ba akong TV show? Twelve years na ang 'Bubble Gang'. Marami din naman akong naging soap. Marami rin akong naging pelikula. Wala akong bisyo. Atsaka alam niyo naman mahilig ako mag-invest," she said.
Message to Jinky
Mina said that Pacquiao's wife, Jinky, should not feel worried about the malicious rumors reaching her because they simply aren't true.
"Maawa na sila sa tao dahil para sa bansa yung gagawin niyang paglaban. Para kay Jinky, huwag na lang siya basta maniniwala kung anu-ano man ang makarating sa kanya. Kasi kung makikilala mo ako nang husto magiging best of friends pa tayo, promise."
Practice, practice
Mina also sees nothing wrong with her singing the national anthem before Pacquiao's fight with Mexico's Marco Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas on October 6, contrary to her critics who seem determined to keep her from doing so.
This early, there have been reports that Ara Mina is already the Pacquiao camp's choice to sing the Philippine national anthem before the bout, beating other contenders.
"Hindi pa nga ako napipili eh iniitriga na ako. Kung ako man ang mapili it's an honor. Gagawin ko yon para sa bansa natin. At wala akong pakialam sa intriga at I'll try my very best na pagbutihin. Magpapractice ako every hour every day."
Mina pointed out that she's no greenhorn when it comes to singing. After all, she already had her major solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum, which has a seating capacity of almost 20,000 people during concerts. She also said that she also performed in shows abroad, in venues with thrice the number of people in her Araneta concert.
"Basta pag kanta ko, pray lang. Wag na intindihin mga tao sa paligid," she said.
Hard-earned home
Mina said that her new home came from her own hard work and she even had to take out a loan from the bank to finance it. Getting the house was not originally her idea. Rather, it was her then boyfriend Polo Ravales who was house-hunting and they found the house together.
"Naghahanap kami ng house, for my ex-boyfriend Polo Ravales. Nakita namin ito 50% pa lang ang ginagawa. Mga February yon after my concert. Hindi pa siya tapos nagagandahan na ako," she said.
Mina and Ravales eventually parted ways but Mina still had the house in mind. Ravales had lost interest in her and in the house. "Naisipan ko what if ako na lang kumuha?"
The sexy actress said that anybody who still thinks the house is a gift to her from Pacquiao is free to check her bank records.
"Pina-appraise ko sa bangko yung bahay. Diyos ko eh eleksyon noon, kaya lumapit ako sa dad ko kung pwede niya akong mabigyan ng mga raket sa probinsya para maka-ipon ako ng pang-down. Na-approve ang loan ko. Nag-loan ako sa bangko. Ba't naman ako maglo-loan kung may nagbibigay na ng instant cash? Sa showbiz talaga, iniisip ko nga kung may intriga ba na hindi pa naiintriga sa akin, eh."
Mina even consulted a feng shui expert about her house. "Sabi sa feng shui September 20 ang the best date para dito sa bahay. Nagkataon naman na 60th birthday ng mommy ko. Kaya sabay na lang, di ba."
She also said that the feng shui expert seems right about the positive effect of the house on her lovelife. She admitted that ever since she began work on the house, the number of ther suitors has increased.
"Kaya lang puro bagets!" she said.
Collect then select
She said that she's happy that even if she has no steady boyfriend, there are a lot of guys expressing interest.
"Happy ako kasi maraming nanunuyo. Sabi nga nila, di ba, collect and collect before you select the best. May bahay na ako. Love life na lang kulang. Pag meron na naman hindi ko itatago pero wag na lang intrigahin. Parang ayaw ko na ng taga-showbiz." (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay) -- IT'S confirmed: Ara Mina will sing the Philippine National Anthem or Lupang Hinirang at the return bout of Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera set on October 7.
It had came out in the news before that Ara was indeed chosen to do such part but at that time, Ara said she had just sent her study tape and nothing yet was final.
In fact, when the item came out, some quarters were quick to say that Ara would certainly get the part because at that time, she was being linked to Manny.
These people said Ara would be it because Manny would certainly decide in her favor. But Ara brushed aside these rumors, saying nothing's certain until the announcement.
Ara said she would brush up on the lyrics of the Philippine National Anthem so she won't run the risk of forgetting the lyrics, like what happened to Christian Bautista when he was invited to sing in a boxing bout. Christian's mistake, although unintentional, was being made as a joke by some people.
Not everyone gets the chance to sing the national anthem in a celebrated event such as the Pacquiao-Barrera fight so Ara ought to prepare and make a good run at it. (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 22 (Mabuhay) -- ANOTHER star who's happy to be part of "Pitong Tagpo" is Karylle, who is in the "Toga" episode about an OFW dad who attends the graduation of his daughter who he has not seen for a long time. "Totoong-totoo ang story namin as there are really true stories of parents who work hard abroad just to be able to send their kids here to school," she says. "But in the process, kulang ang communication between them kasi lumalaki ang mga bata na absent ang parents nila. I'm sure, lahat ng overseas workers na nagpakasakit for their kids, makaka-relate sa 'Toga' episode." "Pitong Tagpo," is an independent film and has seven different stories written and directed by Rahyan Carlos.
How does she feel about her boyfriend Dingdong Dantes' doing a sexy pictorial for Cosmo and taking his shirt off in the Cosmo Bash? "I didn't watch it pero napanood ko sa Internet at happy naman akong maraming girls ang naka-appreciate sa kanya dahil pinaghirapan niya talaga 'yun with regular workouts. He used to be very conservative then at magsuot lang ako ng mini-skirt nagagalit. But when he last saw me wearing one sa 'SOP', he even said 'Nice, nice!' When people ask me now, how's your boyfriend, ang sagot ko, 'Yon, he's the number one bachelor sa Cosmo. O di ba, may yabang factor. I'm really proud of him at hindi ako nai-insecure." What about her, when will she do a sexy pictorial for a men's mag? "I do have offers, pero hindi naman bagay sa'kin ang ganyan. I don't need to do it naman just because nag-pose na ng sexy ang boyfriend ko. When he was asked about it, hindi rin naman daw siya papayag. Ewan ko lang ngayong he did it na. Baka nag-iba na rin ang views niya. But as for me, huwag na lang muna. Hindi ko pa kaya." (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay) -- Is Piolo Pascual turning into a kind of serial thriller as he makes admissions left and right about past romantic relationships, and dropping hints about possible romantic interests in the future?
He stunned the press by admitting to having had a love affair with Pops Fernandez (ex-wife of singer Martin Nievera and rumored current flame of actor Jomari Yllana). Before that, he made hints about a possible interest in new ABS-CBN talent Angel Locsin.
Then a few days ago, Piolo said that he feels shivers of excitement because KC Concepcion, the exquisitely beauteous daughter of megastar Sharon Cuneta, named him among the actors she admires.
Now the latest revelation from Piolo is that he courted actress/host Rica Peralejo but for reasons he did not disclose, he stopped.
Piolo explained that one of the reasons he gave up his pursuit of Rica was his workload. He just became too busy to pay attention to romantic pursuits. However, Piolo did say that he hasn't given up completely on pursuing Rica. "It's not yet a close book, I'm just busy with my work and it's hard to do both things at the same time," Piolo said, emphasizing that he and Rica remain friends.
Rica and Piolo worked together for ABS-CBN's 2006 series "Sa Piling Mo," and weekly variety show ASAP.
Piolo is a regular host of ABS-CBN's weekly variety show "ASAP '07" and is set to star in a new fantaserye on ABS-CBN with former GMA-7 prize talent Angel Locsin.
On the other hand Rica is a regular host of "Umagang Kay Ganda" and busy taping her current television series "Pangarap na Bituin." (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 24 (Mabuhay) -- MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta and daughter KC Concepcion have forgiven Billy Crawford after his apology on national TV. The Fil-Am international star was said to have caught the ire of the mother and daughter after he was quoted to have said "KC is a good kisser." While he looked really sincere with his apology, KC still turned down his invitation to watch his "It's Time" concert at the Araneta Coliseum on October 6. Meanwhile, Filipino fans will savor the songs that made Billy an international young Filipino singer in the concert. Right now, Billy is based in LA, with a big dream before he gets married- to put up his own recording company, to write songs for foreign singers and to establish a name in the mainstream international music scene. Billy's repertoire will include high- energy songs, from hip-hop to pop including "Bright Lights," "When You Think About Me," "Never My Love," "Steamy Nights," and "Trackin'". He is joined by the best performers in the land like Jay R, Karylle and Kris Lawrence. Billy himself will host the show, perform with French choreographer Maryss and the Movers, Aizel Moneva, Jobel Dayrit, Daniel Agbisit, AJ Sarate, Darcy Godoy, Mich Garong, and JM Vergara, the group who won in the reality-dance contest "Move." To direct the show is international director Gabriel Hoareau who directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the Athens Olympic in 2004. Billy is proud to be Pinoy who never forgot his native tongue despite international exposure. He was an NRJ Music Awards (Cannes, France) recipient of Best Newcomer of the Year (2002) and International Male Artist of the year (2003) as well as Eastwood Walk of Fame Recipient (2007). (MNS)

After flying high with “Super Twins," Director Dominic Zapata extends his realm outside the galaxy in “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan," the newest primetime show out to make history on Philippine TV.
Dominic Zapata has become a household name, thanks to projects that are appreciated across age groups. After Super Twins, he no longer has qualms about venturing into another “campy" concept with Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan.
“Parang masaya na ako nagayon, mas comportable na akong sa mga campy concepts." Zaido maybe campy but it definitely has strong roots as established by the Japanese sentai series Shaider.
While Direk Dom admits that he was never a follower of the original show, he is keen on being true to its concept. “Kahit hindi ako Shaider fan, we have to respect the original and hopefully maintain some of the equities of the show," he stresses.
The director notes discussing the Filipino spin-off with several Shaider fans and the basic requirements they noted were “Kailangan sumasayaw yung kalaban, yung robots, the motorcycles – (these are) all part of the equity."
In the Zaido, some aspects are similar to the original but expect the story to be different. “Bago na! Nag-evolve na yung character. Ngayon, bloodline at successor sila ni Shaider," says Direk Dom.
The GMA show involves the search of Gallian (Dennis Trillo) for his cousins Alexis (Marky Cielo) and Cervano (Aljur Abrenica). As Zaidos, they will eventually become the first line of defense from the evil forces of Kuuma Le-ar.
Direk Dom notes that there will be many twists and turns in the story. It may sound like an action show but it’s actually a drama series for kids. “Pambata siya. Maganda yung storya, may puso…We’re not getting top-calibers (actors) if we’re not giving enough dramatic scenes," he adds.
With Direk Dom’s unceasing enthusiasm and love for the industry, he is certain to keep us mesmerized with his groundbreaking ideas and vision. - iGMA.tv

MANILA -- Iza Calzado came back from Toronto after shooting "The Echo," her first ever Hollywood stint. Iza said working with all the foreign stars, especially the girl who played her daughter, had been a memorable experience.
Iza was about to start shooting for another upcoming movie "Batanes," but she has to promote first "Mona, Singapore Escort," the movie she did in Singapore.
"This is an unforgettable movie for me as I was able to see the red light district of Singapore to research on my role as an escort girl," she says. "I met a real Pinay escort girl who became our Mona and our consultant for the film, which is mostly based on her real life experiences there."
Iza had a first-hand look at how an escort girl lives while doing the shoot and she even stayed in Mona's apartment. She said this will be an eye-opener for all the viewers. "They don't know that our women work not only as domestic helpers in Singapore but also as escorts who cater to foreigners. It's a very challenging role for me and I hope I was able to give it justice as it's a story of love and sacrifice."
After the shoot, Iza understood more the conditions of most of the escort girls that her role represents. "Pinays have different reasons why they go into prostitution. In Mona's case, more than anything else, it's her love for her family and her sincere desire to help them." She also said shooting the movie is unforgettable, hurting her right hand as a pyrotechnic device called 'gun squib' exploded in her hand earlier than expected.
According to Executive producer Pete Daza's report, Iza amazed everyone because she went on to shoot the scene even if it was obvious she got hurt. "She was so focused on the scene and proved to be a real trouper for whom the show must go on despite the explosion."
"Mona: Singapore Escort" opens in the Philippines on October 17 in SM theaters.

MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay) -- Raymart Santiago admits that he misses doing a sitcom and would love to do one if he gets an offer.
"Masarap gumawa ng sitcom kasi magaan ang trabaho, saka masaya sa set kasi very light ang feeling," says Raymart.
For now, Raymart would have to settle with his role as Alvaro in the new GMA telefantasya "Zaido, Pulis Pangkalawakan" which premieres on Monday, September 24, on the GMA telebabad block.
In the said telefantasya, he plays the older brother of Alexis (portrayed by Starstruck 3 Ultimate Sole Survivor Marky Cielo) who was led to live as an outlaw upon their father's death so he could provide for the family. He was later mysteriously kidnapped by unidentified men.
Raymart is also very eager to talk about his son, Santino, who's now two months old. "We call him Tino. Wala pa siyang masyadong nagagawa kasi he's only two months old pero ngumingiti na siya. Saka, hindi masyadong iyakin si Santino. Kahit na noong ipinanganak siya ni Claudine, hindi siya masyadong umiyak."
Does he help change the diaper of Santino? "Pa-minsan-minsan. Mamaya, magpapalit ako," joked Raymart as he was obviously referring to himself as the one who need to change his diapers. "I don't wake up at night to change his diaper kasi mahirap naman kung puyat kaming lahat. Sa unang dalawang araw ni Santino sa bahay ay sa kuwarto namin ni Claudine siya natulog pero after that ay sa sariling kuwarto na niya siya pinatulog kasama ang yaya nito."
Raymart says he also didn't have to fix milk for Santino. "Kasi nag-breastfeed si Claudine sa kanya. Nag-stop lang si Claudine mag-breastfeed ngayon pero itutuloy pa rin niya ito later," the actor related.
He says their adopted daughter Sabina doesn't get jealous with the attention that he and Claudine are giving Santino. He thinks that Sabina understands the situation although he says they make it a point to give Sabina ample attention as well so she won't get jealous. He says that he's also in the process of fixing Sabina's adoption papers so she can use the surname Santiago. He hopes everything will be in order before the year ends.
He's still dreaming of winning an acting award in the movies but he says there's no opportunity to do so because of the lack of movie offers. (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 24 (Mabuhay) -- Best friends Toni Gonzaga and John Prats said their relationship remains strong and intact despite the intrigues over the pregnancy of John's sister, actress and former child star Camille Prats.
Both Prats and Gonzaga have appeared to tell viewers that there's no bad blood between them and that they remain close friends.
Cameras earlier caught Gonzaga and Prats backstage on the variety show "ASAP" where they hugged each other in an emotional reunion. It was the first time for them to meet since the controversy erupted.
Gonzaga was caught in the middle of a controversy after a rumor came out that her boyfriend, director Paul Soriano, was one of those suspected to be the father of Prats' child.
Then, John Prats during a September 9 interview with "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda said that he felt hurt by Soriano's "No comment" statement to the media when he was asked about the rumor.
Prats said that Soriano's "no comment" was open to so many interpretations and could even imply negative things about Soriano and his sister.
"He should just tell the truth, 'I am not the father'. There. It's simple," Prats told Abunda.
The Prats family has already acknowledged that the father of Camille Prats' child is her boyfriend of three years.
Gonzaga told "The Buzz" that both she and Soriano thought it best to keep quiet since the pregnancy was a very delicate matter for the Prats' family.
"I was telling him na if, things I asked him already about that and he said that it was not true so there was no reason at all for him to give any comment regarding that matter. We both agreed that it was a very sensitive and personal matter that they're dealing with, and John is a good good friend. So I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize out friendship. Iyon, we both decided na he's not gonna say anything," said Gonzaga.
Prats meanwhile said that the only reason why his family took time before telling the public about Camille's condition is that they wanted to avoid causing her stress with the inevitable media attention.
"Kasi syempre pag nilabas niya iyon agad, tatanungin siya, magiging issue siya," said Prats.
Both Gonzaga and Prats only had good words for each other at the interviews conclusion.
"I know naman Direk Paul will take good care of you and dapat lang talaga kasi sobra talagang amazing na babae si Toni. And what I said yesterday, you should love each other and I'm always here kahit anong problema mo. I'm always here and to support you," said Prats.
"I really really treasure our friendship. And just so you know I'm always here for you. I'm just a text or call away. You will always have a special place in my heart," said Gonzaga. (MNS)

MANILA, Sept 21 (Mabuhay) -- Actress Sunshine Cruz-Montano is back in the limelight after a conspicuous absence from show business. She's cast in an ABS-CBN fantasy TV series "Lastikman," which tells a story of a half-human, half- alien being with powers of elongation and elasticity who fights crime.
"I am happy I'm back," said Sunshine at the presscon of the new telefantasya at the Treatino in Greenhills Wednesday night.
Sunshine now attaches her husband's name (actor Cesar Montano) to her screen name, something she is only doing now because she has finally made a comeback in showbiz.
"Matagal na dapat na inilagay ko ang surname ni Cesar (Montano) sa pangalan ko. Kasi, nasa batas din naman natin 'yan. Pero hindi naman ako lumalabas no'n sa TV at pelikula. Ngayon lang, official nang nakakabit sa pangalan ko. Pag babae ka at nagkaasawa, you sport the name of your husband, right?" affirmed Sunshine.
Sunshine said that married life and her being a mother has changed her life completely. She said that a lot of practical wisdom has come her way.
"Marami na akong natutunan sa buhay. As a woman, I wouldn't want to be just a display. Kami ni Cesar, we talk a lot. May tampuhan paminsan-minsan. Hindi nawawala 'yon. Pero he sees to it na may boses ako as her wife. Pinakikinggan niya and I appreciate him that way," she said.
She admitted she could let go of her acting career if need be but she still loves it as long as the working atmosphere is favorable.
"Sayang naman ang naipundar ko sa showbiz. Basta lang maganda ang offer, okey na. I accepted this 'Lastikman' kasi, nang basahin ko 'yong script, maganda and according to the management, talaga raw first choice nila ako sa role ko. So I grabbed it immediately."
Cesar's brief foray into politics and public office in the recent senatorial election (he was a senatorial candidate), was also a huge influence in Sunshine's life.
"Naiba talaga ako. Noon, hindi ako masyadong nagsasalita in front of people pero nang makasama ako ni Buboy (Cesar's pet name) sa mga campaign sorties, I started to articulate myself before a lot of people. Naging articulate na ako mula noon. Mas marami na akong nasasabi sa mga tao, sa interview sa akin ng mga reporter. Kasi ba naman, lagi akong kasama ng mga senador at congressman kaya naiba ang takbo ng mundo ko."
Sunshine is willing to try a lot of roles in reel and real life. "Now I'm into a little business like the restaurant I manage with Cesar's daughter Angelina. I also want to do offbeat roles but not sexy. Tapos na ako ro'n."
Sunshine also said that she and Cesar won't be having any more kids. "Tama na muna ang tatlong anak. We should plan our family. Hindi naman sa hindi namin kaya ni Buboy na suportahan ang mga anak namin. It's just that we have to be more practical about having a relatively smaller family. Mas makakagalaw kami nang tama at malaya,"she said. (MNS)
