Filipino Author Donates Works to
East Coast Cities

A GENEALOGICAL book written by Filipino author Denny Arcilla was donated last month to the Executive Director of the Baltimore Public Library, Carla Hayden.

The book entitled ‘Genealogy of Arcilla Clan-International’, was published in 1999 and distributed a year after.

According to Arcilla, the extensively researched book is a ‘legacy’ to the whole clan and a tribute to his father– Treasurer Demetrio F. Arcilla, Sr.

The income from book sales in the US and in the Philippines were used by Arcilla to establish his ‘Academic Scholarship Fund’, a foundation that aims to help the bright, yet unfortunate students in the Philippines.

Arcilla’s book was also donated to the Jersey State Library thru director Norma Blake. In total, he donated 12 books to American public libraries and six books to Philippine libraries.

A member of the prestigious National Genealogical Society that was founded in 1903, he was the lone Filipino delegate to its four-day Centennial Anniversary that was celebrated in Pittsburgh in 2003.

Arcilla is married to Dr. Nita Rivera, MD of Pampanga. They are both based in Houston, Texas.
