JERSEY CITY– Perf De Castro is one of the most influential guitarists in Philippine music history. He was the founding lead guitarist of the legendary group Rivermaya, the former vocalist and guitarist of the seminal rock trio, Triaxis, and now an accomplished, well-renowned classical guitarist in the Philippines and here in the United States.
On Saturday, April 19, 2008, Perf will highlight his classical prowess and rock guitar skills with two of the most promising FilAm bands in New Jersey: The Happy Analogues and the Kuwagos.
The show, entitled “Live!” will be held at the new habitat of the Fil Am music scene, Xin Fusion Lounge, located at 2071 Clove Road, Staten Island, NY.
Perf will play a full classical set with his instrument of choice– a 10-string classical guitar, and will likewise rock out on hits like “Awit ng Kabataan”, “214”, and some standard Pinoy Rock hits.
Perf is currently promoting his classical guitar album, as well as his Leyte Benefit CD, the FilAm compilation album released in 2006, for the benefit of the Leyte mudslide victims.
Meanwhile, The Happy Analogues and The Kuwagos are expected to play and promote their new materials from their upcoming albums.
Show starts at 9:30 PM. Cover charge is $10.

THE Cross of Jesus and the Flores de Mayo or Flowers in May in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated at the 4th Phil – US Expo on May 18, 2008 at the New Jersey National Guard Armory, Jersey City, New Jersey.
After the 11 o’ clock mass, there will be an offering of flowers and a procession. Members of the Philippine community will portray an array of biblical and historical characters. The procession of Reinas or beautiful women, escorts, angels and Hermanos & Hermanas will highlight the celebration.
The Barangay of the Virgin will take in-charge of the Flores De Mayo. These are some of the girls who will lead the offering of flowers and procession.
