The Philippine-Newyork Jaycees Invites The Community To FLOATATIOUS Fundraiser Party!
NEW YORK – On Friday, May 16th 2008 at 8:00 pm, the Philippine-New York Junior Chamber (Jaycees), Inc* will be hosting “FLOATATIOUS”, a fundraiser party at China 1 Lounge, 50 Ave B (between 3rd and 4th St.), NY, NY 10009.

The Philippine-New York Jaycees is celebrating its 45 years of existence and its stature as THE leadership training organization for young adults. Proceeds from FLOATATIOUS will support the Jaycees’ first parade float to celebrate the chapter’s 45th Anniversary at the upcoming Philippine Independence Day Parade on Sunday, June 1st, 2008 in Manhattan, New York.

FLOATATIOUS Party will feature performances by R & B singer J Cabrera; Hip-Hop dance group DynamiQ Faction; and Maritess, The Illusionist.

FLOATATIOUS will have numerous drink specials and raffle drawings throughout the night. The suggested entrance donation is $10. In the spirit of the Jaycees color theme, we recommend partygoers wear blue and white. Philippine-New York Past President Christina Corcuera will also celebrate her birthday at this event. PERFORMERS

J Cabrera built his buzz in the underground and recorded music for his debut EP on Nemesis Records. His single “I Don’t Mind”, got some well deserved radio airplay at major R&B and Hip Hop station WBLS 107.5 and other local stations. (www.myspace.com/jcabreramusic)

DynamiQ Faction is a Queens-based Dance Team inspired by the dream of passionate leaders to bring the essence of dance and performance into the untapped realm of New York's very own talented borough! Born and established this very year, DynamiQ is formed by Queen's most talented young hip hop and modern dancers, aimed to train in the art of performance from urban hip hop to funk, street jazz, and more.

Maritess is one of the few female magicians in the world. She trained in Las Vegas and competed in international magic championships in Lisbon, Portugal. Maritess’ performance has been featured in Newsday and Lifetime Television.

Pinoys Unite On The East Coast To Celebrate
Filipino Music

A weekend of fun for the whole family awaits at the 2008 Pinoy Musik Festival & Expo de Mayo, May 17-18 at the Meadowlands Expo Center, Secaucus, New Jersey. Highlights include live music, performances by some of the biggest Filipino entertainers, great food and activities for all.

Headlining performers include Filipino superstars Sam Milby, MYMP, Kris Lawrence, Pork Chop Duo and Divo Bayer./Top Pinoy performers also taking the stage include JP Balingit, Flip, Gen, Gilbert Laurel, Eric Celerio, Ramon Tarrayo, Joe Valledo, Marq Romero, Golda de la Merced, Erica Jones, RJ Solis, and San Francisco’s pride – Poca & Rey Kilay,

The Festival will showcase the hottest Filipino bands in the New York metro area, including Iskulbluekul, Simply Rhythm, Emanon, The Grudge, Illustration, Ininefive, Warholsoup, Paperjune, It's Simply Green and the charming sounds of the Miguel Braganza II's Musical Theatre for the Young Audience.

There's literally something for everyone at the Festival. For chess fans, Super Grandmaster Mark Paragua will take on 50 chess players simultaneously in the Chess Pavilion. For kids, fun yet educational activities abound in the Children's Pavilion.

Other highlights of the 2-day festival include the highly anticipated Songwriting Competition finals, Karaoke/Videoke contest, sponsors & exhibitors kiosks, Bandfest & Alumni Jam Session, prime networking opportunities, authentic Filipino food court and a special celebration of Catholic Mass on Sunday at 10 AM, officiated by Fr. Donato Cabardo. Following the mass, there will be a performance by Renowned worship leader Steve Kuban.
