NEW YORK–You could name a lot of singer-performers lording it over the music scene, but nobody matches or gets at par or even at least closer with the touted sexy Prince of R n’ B Jay-R--- the current toast of the R n’ B genre and tin pan alley’s biggest record sales holder in the said category.
Jay-R was eagerly met with such great measure of curiosity (must be due to his unusually dynamic personality) the first time he stepped into the limelight … hotter than a red-hot lightning rod… as he indelibly stamped his enticing charisma through a sound powerfully rendered in his own manner of musicality.
Jay-R’s style is peculiar and personal with a formula that is as simple as having an impeccable wardrobe sense (usually in pristine white ensemble), a wholly appropriate strutting riff coupled with tame sensuous body locomotion and most of all, a singing style distinctly his own--- effective criteria for a quick shot to prominence.
Branching out to modeling and product endorsing, theater, the boob tube and the big screen, song-writing, print & TV ads and road show engagements, this multi-faceted pop icon has formidably explored all available avenues with limitless possibilities.
Let’s consider Jay-R’s female counterpart in a different aspect; Geneva Cruz. With a career that continuously blossomed and spanned this long since her early years when she first hugged the limelight via an all-teen singing group, “Smokey Mountain,” Geneva Cruz has impressively maintained her alluring presence in a world where certainty is as vague as an initial project.
Undaunted and undeterred by the voluminous arrival of fast-rising young performers, Geneva remains calm and unthreatened by their “coming”… instead, she’s comfortable in the very level and space she calls her own. Attesting to her peculiar versatility as a performer are awards and recognitions she received from prestigious local and international award-giving bodies: nine (9) Awit Awards for her hit single “Kailan,” a Grand prize in the “Voice of Asia” singing competition held in Russia, a multi-platinum for her first solo album “I Like You” and more.
Like every celebrity, Geneva has her share of being a product endorser, whereby giving her name a bigger boost. In 1994, Geneva’s stature was even made greater and earned for her a much bigger league of followers with the release of “Anak Ng Pasig”, a cut from her second album “In The Name of Love” and timely capped by her movie debut in “Campus Girls.”
Suffice it to conclude that this thrustful, highly energetic, curvaceous, and voluptuous diva of a performer from the renown singing clan of the Cruzes has got all what it takes to stay this long in the business where she has trustingly invested and expediently laid her very heart and soul.
Catch the Prince of R n’ B Jay-R and the Dance Pop Diva Geneva Cruz when they personally perform to prove their worth as A-one talents in an all-star cast BACK2BACK Concert with “Divalicious” Pops Fernandez, Comedy King Dolphy, Sensuous Chanteuse Zsa-Zsa Padilla, “Star In A Million” champ Kris Lawrence, actor/director Eric Quizon, Dolphy’s other sons Vandolph, Jeffrey, Ronnie and Boy2, at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 7 PM brought to you by Trump Entertainment Resorts, Special Edition Press, Inc. and ERJ Productions in cooperation with TFC/ABS-CBN Global, Western Union, Philippine Airlines, Tancinco Law Offices, The Garden State Travel, Northwest Airlines, Asian Journal Publications, Inc., United Staffing Registry, Inc., Perlas Ng Silangan, Tiketan Online (Carouselpinoy.com), PNB Remittance Center, Inc. and Direct TV.
