Comcast digital voice worldwide calling plan
NEW YORK–Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300, also known as the Worldwide Calling Plan, is being launched to Comcast Digital Voice customers nationwide. The plan offers 300 anytime minutes to 100 countries at a rate of $14.95 per month. It includes 100 countries in Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Talking Points: To serve the best interests of our customers, we are offering a competitively priced Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300 calling plan to 100 countries in Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and Africa to customers with our Digital Voice service.

This plan is another example of how we continue to reinvent home phone service for the 21st Century by bringing innovative new features to consumers at a better price. Comcast Digital Voice is often 20 to 30% less than traditional phone service. Comcast Digital Voice is an innovative, reliable Ipenabled home phone service that delivers all of the functions of traditional phone service, plus enhanced features that are integrated with other Comcast services.

In addition to launching Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300, we offer a number of major enhancements to Comcast Digital Voice, which include: SmartZone™ Communications Center – (available to nearly all of our CHSI customers) is an innovative online application that brings simplicity and convenience to customers’ lives by enabling them to manage their email, voice mail and universal address book in one place.

Universal Caller ID – (now available to more than 10MM homes in footprint) allows Triple Play customers to view caller information on their phone, TV and PC.

Enhanced Cordless Telephone – a next generation cordless home phone that offers all of the popular features that come with Comcast Digital Voice plus integrated services and advanced functionality such as the ability to view email, view voice mail, read news, sports and horoscopes, access your universal address book, search the Yellow Pages and more. Note: Comcast’s applicable charges for the cordlesstelephone are extra. Comcast is now the third largest residential phone service provider in the U.S. with more than six million customers. Through an analysis of Comcast Digital Voice customers’ international calling habits, we discovered that more than half of all accounts are calling Western European, Asian and Latin American countries (Source: Internal ILD Usage data, Dec. 2007).

The countries included in the international Carefree Minutes™ plan are also included in the Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300. However, the Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300 plan includes additional locations. The Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300 Plan can be added to a customer’s CDVaccount for $14.95 per month. In the plan, customers get 300 minutes of talk time to directdialed calls to landline phones. Calls to mobile numbers, operator services and directory assistance are excluded. Unused minutes do not roll over to the following months. (Note: Talk time does not include the time it takes to connect. For billing purposes, calls are rounded in one minute increments.)

Calling locations in the Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300 Plan work out to about $0.05/minute (based on 300 minutes of use). Equipment, taxes, surcharges and other applicable fees are additional. Standard international calling rates will apply to minutes used in excess of the 300 minutes included in the plan.A complete list of international rates can be found online at: www.comcast.com

Q&A:

Q: Is Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide 300 available to all Comcast customers?

A: Yes, this plan is available to Comcast Digital Voice customers. However, the worldwide plan is not available to Comcast Business Class customers.

Q: How much are the plans?

A. To subscribe to these plans, customers must add their selected plan to Comcast Digital Voice service for an additional monthly fee. (Worldwide calling plan is not a stand alone offer, you must be a CDV subscriber in order to purchase this plan.) Carefree Minutes Worldwide™ 300 offers 300 anytime minutes for directdialed calls to 100 countries at a competitive rate of $14.95 per month. The plan works out to about $0.05/minute. The per minute estimate is based on 300 minutes of usage. Taxes, surcharges and other applicable fees are additional.

Q: For customers who make frequent international calls, how much can they save by signing up for a Comcast Carefree Minutes Worldwide™ 300 versus standard Comcast Digital Voice per minute rates (without the Carefree minute plan)?

A: A call to the United Kingdom would cost $0.08 per minute at our Comcast Digital Voice by the minute rate, but with the Carefree Minutes™ Worldwide™ 300 plan, the first 300 minutes are only $0.05 (the customer is saving $0.03) per minute, which is approximately a 40% savings, (based on 300 minutes of usage per month).
