MANILA -- Sarah Geronimo was named one of the nominees in the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) in the official list unveiled Tuesday, marking the latest international recognition for the Filipino pop singer.

The 24-year-old Kapamilya star is nominated in the Best Southeast Asia Act category, along with Malaysia's Hafiz, Vietnam's My Tam, Indonesia's NOAH, Singapore's Olivia Ong, and Thailand's Slot Machine.

In the blurb describing Geronimo on MTV EMA's official website, the singer is cited as "the Philippines' Popstar Princess."

"For a decade now, she has achieved multi-platinum albums, record-breaking concerts, blockbuster movies, high-rating TV shows, and countless endorsements," it said.

Other local and international recognitions Geronimo has earned throughout the years are also mentioned, such as her recent win as Best Asian Artist (Philippines) at the 2012 MNet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong, and her Nickelodeon Philippines' Kids' Choice Award.

"She is a six-time Awit Awards winner, including the 'Best Selling Album of the Year' for 'One Heart' in 2012, which is a certified five-times platinum album.

"Sarah is the only female artist in history to win all the major Aliw Awards: the coveted Entertainer of The Year and Record Breaker in 2010, Best Female in Major Concert for '24/SG' in 2012, Best in Collaboration For A Concert for 'What Love Is' in 2011, and Most Promising Female Entertainer in 2003," her page reads.

Geronimo was likewise cited for her recently released album "Expressions," which MTV EMA described as a "breakthrough."

The Best Southeast Asia Act category is part of MTV EMA's Worldwide Act section, which recognizes artist from different continents.
