NAFA'S 26th Founding Anniversary

Seven Fiiipino-American community leaders were chosen and honored for their very active participation in our community with the prestigious Mabuhay Award: Mrs. Henrietta Abenoja,of Bergenfield; Lavina Bing Antonio of Jersey City; Mary Ann Sanagustin of Union Township; Rev. Martha Baltazar of Bayonne; Rev. Fred Tarectecan of Bergenfield; Alice Austria Soriano of New York; and Juline Benemile, CPA of Essex County, New Jersey. Presentor of plaques were past Mabuhay Awardees headed by Sir Lito A. Gajilan, Jr. who also officiated the Knights of Rizal program. Consul General Mario del Leon was represented by Vice Consul Khrys Corpuz..


Crowned Miss NAFA USA was Miss Chachi dela Vega, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel dela Vega and Helen who founded NAFA New York. Miss Teen USA was Kyla Merrow, daughter of Chucj and Debbie and the Ambassadress was Gloria Santos, the lovely mother of Dra. Jo Montana, represented by Dr. Wilbur Montana and JR Panshi.

The crowning guest was the past Grand Marshals of the Philippine-American Friendship Committee, Inc. (PAFCOM) Mr. Tom and Ledda Zabala, Alice Austria Soriano, Awardee and assisted by Arnie Rosario, President of Ilokano,USA.Mr. and Brian Manongdo and his wife for sash and Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel, guest of Rev. Martha Baltazar, Awardee. The Abbba Ministry, one of our Benefactors/Donors is headed by Rev. Nora Eusebio, Rev. Aguinaldo and businesswoman, Jennifer Hsu.


Knights of Rizal officials were among those participated in the event headed by five Chapter Commanders; Sir Gali Munar, Sir Paul Verzosa, Sir Buddy Deuna, and Sir Romy Abenoja with Sir Rene Ballenas as emcee. Sir Sonny Austria, former NAFA New York president Zusan Zamora and former Treasurer Lani Brizo assisted in the program.
