New York Attorney elected Commander of Knights of Rizal New York Chapter

Attorney Ferdinand G. Suba is now the new Commander of the Knights of Rizal New York Chapter. He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law and established his own law firm  (The Law Offices of Ferdinand G. Suba) in New York City in 1989.

  Prior to that, he was an Associate at a Wall Street Law Firm of Lichtenberg & Goss.

He took up postgraduate studies in Elder Law (Wills, and Trusts) at the New York University (NYU) here in New York City.

He taught at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines the following subjects: Corporation and Partnership Law; Negotiable Instruments Law; Taxation; and Philippine Constitution.

He was admitted to the Philippines Bar in 1985 and admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1989.  In the same year, he was also admitted to practice law in Federal courts:  United States District Court, Southern District of New York and United States District Court, Eastern District of New York.

He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (New York City Bar), and  the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).  He is an invitee/member of the Peace Program (Human Rights) at Columbia University. He is a judge at the National Forensics League. He writes his regular column, Legal Critique at The Filipino Catholic publication. He is a trustee to the Society of Philippine American Artists (SPAA).

He continues to serve the Filipino community as legal counsel (pro-bono) to the following:   (1) Association of Filipino Teachers in America (AFTA), (2) Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants International, Tri-State, and (3) University of Santo Tomas Association of Nurses in the East Coast of the U.S.A,

He is the Commander of the Knights of Rizal, New York Chapter.  He currently serves as a convener for the Building A Shelter Project (BASP) .

He established "THE FILIPINO CATHOLIC AWARD" to honor outstanding men and women who have shown sterling leadership in the community and made a deep commitment to carrying out the mission of the Catholic Church.  

 

Married to Carina Suba, a director of the Clinical Documentation Program at North Shore-LIJ Health System In Manhasset, New York and they have two children,  Katrina, a credentialing specialist at North Shore-LIJ Health System , also in Manhasset, New York and son, Ferdinand Jr., a sophomore at Cornell University.
